Professional Experience:

She has been at Bilkent University since 1986. During that time, she has also been a Visiting Professor or Visiting Scholar at University of Sydney (Australia), Columbia University (USA), Indiana University (USA), CEIBS (P.R. China), INSEAD (France), Theseus Institute (France), University of Southern Denmark, London Business School (UK), Michigan State University (USA), and Northwestern University (USA). She previously taught at University of Illinois at Chicago (1985) and Northwestern University (1983-84). She was an assistant and instructor at Middle East Technical University during 1975-1980.

She serves on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Marketing and Development and on the editorial boards of the Journal of Consumer Research; Consumption, Markets and Culture; Journal of Macromarketing and Journal of Consumer Policy. She was a former Departmental Editor for the Journal of International Business Studies (2002-2007) and a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Research in Marketing (1990-2006).
